What each item settles
Set length and cycle time per set describe the work. Together with the length of road available, they decide how the stages are spread along the track and how long each set spends in the wash.
The wash envelope is the space the plant must clean around. It comes from the vehicle profile and is limited by the structure gauge and clearances of the depot road.
Brush or brushless is the washing method, chosen against the livery and the finish. Water recovery is sized against the volume per set and the site discharge consent. The control system covers PLC computer control, automatic programs, manual override and attended or unattended operation.
Information to send
-
Rolling stock
The type of vehicle, the set length and the number of sets.
-
Depot road
The length of road available, its clearances and its electrification.
-
Operation
The wash frequency, the turnaround window and whether the plant is attended or unattended.
-
Water
The water supply, the discharge consent and any requirement to recycle.
-
Drawings
The depot drawing and the set profile, which the quotation is prepared from.
Depot road details to include
The plant is drawn to four features of the running line: track geometry, structure gauge, clearances and electrification. Mark all four on the depot drawing, with the length of road the wash can occupy.
State at this stage whether the plant will be attended or unattended. Operation mode sits inside the control system item, alongside PLC computer control, automatic programs and the manual override.
Where the figures come from
Europe Makine publishes no standard rail figures, so a train wash specification is never copied from a catalogue sheet. The figures are produced for your depot and arrive with the quotation.
The plant itself is built in Europe Makine's own facility. The company's heavy vehicle and car systems carry full published specifications on europemakine.com, and those pages show the level of detail the company works to.
